Lola Jurakić

Lola was born on September 6, 2004 in Gouda (the Netherlands), in a musical family. Her mother is a professional clarinetist, and her brother plays the piano. Lola started taking her cello lessons at the age of 7 at the local music school in Gouda.

2 years later she started the introductory course at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with professor Lucia Swarts. Since 2014 she is the student of the School for Young Talents at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag.

In 2017 Lola won the second prize at the Benjamin Britten cello competition, and in 2018 she became first at the Prinses Christina Concours in region West 1. In October 2018, Lola will take part in the festival Moscow Meets Friends organized by Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation. In November 2018 she will give a solo recital with members of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.

Lola is part of the Atheneum Chamber Orchestra and she also performs with other chamber music ensembles. Her dream is to play the first and second cello concerto of Shostakovich, one of her favorite composers.
