Born in Alkmaar 25-03-2003, she started playing the violin at the age of 6. At present Maaike is studying violin at the Sweelinck Academy of the Conservatory of Amsterdam, with Wiesje Miedema. She is part of the Dutch Youth Orchestra and the prize-winner of the Artiance competition in Alkmaar and the Young Talent Competition in Maassluis. She participates in various projects to broaden her musical boundaries.
