CELEBRATING SUCCESS

The project “Hidden Gems of Russian Romantic Music” created by the internationally acclaimed violinist Maria Milstein and lead by the brilliant maestro Igor Ruhadze had a huge success in Amsterdam. This unique cooperation between the Dutch and Russian young musicians was initiated by the Stichting Bevordering Jong Talent in collaboration with the Sweelinck Academy of the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Moscow Gnessin Special School of Music. In the course of the project, 4 concerts took place presenting to the Dutch audience the works of the Russian Romantic composers rarely programmed here in the Netherlands – Glinka, Gliere, Cui, Rubinstein and others.

6 young talents: Mara Mostert (15), Isaac Lottman (16), Thea Borstel (16) from the Netherlands and Artemy Sokolovsky (15), Sofia Maslova (15), Elena Krivorotova (13) from Russia performed together a beautiful chamber program, impressing the audience not only with the magnificent pieces but also with the exceptionally high professional level of their playing, musicality and virtuosity.

Now the Russian young talents went back to Moscow with the hope that the creative cooperation and musical friendships with their Amsterdam peers will continue. Thank you Artemy, Sofia and Elena for your dedication, tremendous capacity for work, discipline and creativity! We’re looking forward to see you again.

All the participants were enormously thankful to Igor Ruhadze who put all his passion for music, pedagogical talent, love for children and immense work into this initiative, without his guidance, coaching and brilliant performance this project could never have happened. Also, we would like to thank sincerely all the amazing teachers who brought up such talented students.
