GRACHTENFESTIVAL

A premiere at the Grachtenfestival: for the first time, 4 young talents from Russia, laureates of the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation, will perform in the HTD series. Both concerts take place on Saturday, August 17 at 12:00 and 13:30.

The first program will be presented by 14-year-old Maria Polyakova (flute) and 13-year-old Valeria Svichkarenko (violin). Accompanied by the outstanding pianist Anastasia Safonova, they play beautiful pieces by Tchaikovsky from “Swan Lake” and Eugene Onegin, but also the bustling “Fantasia on themes from the opera “Carmen”.

The other program will be performed by Yegor Sidorov (piano, 13 years old) and Maxim Samsonov (balalaika, 14 years old). These young virtuosos will play pieces by Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, piano solo and also special arrangements for piano and balalaika, the traditional Russian folk instrument.
